How often does your backup status report say the backup occurred successfully when it didn’t? The answer is unless you try to restore it, you can’t know for sure.
Tuor Networks is a Microsoft Gold Partner specializing in IT infrastructure for over 10 years. They provide implementation, support, security and training services to a base of 100+ businesses of all sizes. Roughly half of them are using Storage Guardian.
One progressive Tuor client decided to test Storage Guardian by asking them to perform a mock restore, to ensure that SG could be fully trusted to restore data in the event of a real disaster.
This client operates an 8-workstation office with two servers, MS Small Business Server and Terminal Server. The plan was to see how well and how quickly Storage Guardian could restore one individual user’s mailbox from Exchange server, a total of approximately 8-10 GB of data.
So Tuor contacted Storage Guardian with the request and the Storage Guardian team sent over a USB drive with the appropriate data the next day. Using the DS-Client and the portal, the mailbox was restored within a period of 30-60 minutes.
